It's a great book. Covers off common ideas, but put together in a simple way. Totally recommend it.

Hi Dainty - thanks for your question. I think the reality is that
there's not going to be many people who will hear your idea and run off
with it - even if it is a great idea. Business is hard, time consuming
and difficult, and if you've already put in 'X' amount of time into your
idea, you're already ahead of those who've just heard about it.

Talking to people who are willing to listen and provide feedback is so
important. With anything I've done I've involved people. It's hard to
know if what you're doing is actually a problem worth solving if you
haven't spoken to anyone about it. That said, you don't want to 'spill
the beans' on every little detail, but general chats about your idea
will definitely help you along your way.

Have you thought about attending a Startup Weekend? There are several
happening around the country where you can meet and learn from
successful advisers, as well as other entrepreneurs.

I hope that helps.

Hi Jason - I think I have got the concept of my idea sorted and a prototype made - who do I trust in New Zealand to take it further.. (haven't seen 'Dragons Den' in NZ yet. I don't want some big company taking off with the idea and making it their own. How do I protect myself from being ripped off.

Win or lose does not matter, the value is on the willingness to have the mind twisted and time spent within team. Teamwork, vital to have the group's aim clear among the group member.
